Interview with a civilian.

An interview with a relative, who has no background in medicine.

Interviewer: How much do you know about bacteriophages?
Interviewee: Not at all.

Interviewer: Do you use antibiotics frequently?
Interviewee: No, not very often.

Interviewer: Does anyone in your family use antibiotics a lot?
Interviewee: No, only if there’s some kind of infection or inflammation, but even then, not much—certainly not more than once or twice a year.

Interviewer: Are you aware of the dangers of antibiotic resistance in bacteria?
Interviewee: Yes, I’ve heard about it.

Interviewer: Have you or a family member ever had a bacterial infection that was resistant to antibiotics?
Interviewee: Yes, my mother did, and historically, my brother as well. That was quite a while ago.

Interviewer: Would you consider bacteriophage therapy if you had the opportunity?
Interviewee: Why not? If it doesn’t have negative or other side effects and it helps, then definitely.
