1. Bacteriophages are types of viruses that kill bacteria. They are very wide spread in nature.
2. ⁠it’s non relevant, not used for the best of my knowledge
3. ⁠not too often, but multiple drug resistance is getting more of the problem. I could see phases being used as a treatment for multiple resistance bacteria, however I would assume that bacteria could develop some resistance to phages as well.
4. ⁠more research is needed to apply use of phages in medicine, but it sounds promising
5. ⁠if benefits of use outweigh risks, than definitely yes.
